I swear, it said "Exercise and
walk with
God "
in big lit letters outside the
Church
of Salvation (corner of
Tournament
Street)
what does it mean?
like in get up, eat, exercise,
walk
with God, do the laundry,
do the spring clean?
or maybe, if you exercise,
reward is walking with God,
or as in, exercise is God?
I see no rhyme or reason,
explain so I don't miss the season.
What's the matter with you people,
can you be bought just like that
at the drop of a hat,
one day I believe
in people seeing through the tricks,
having build this country
with solid bricks
not crumbling chalk,
next I disbelieve
and despair,
the cheap talk
in gold leaf cloak
seduced you all
with deceiving thin air.
The rooting and uprooting
happened under a perfectly
sunny and friendly canopy
of tree blooms exploding, birds
shooting
off top branches, and squirrels
blazing off hip hop dances,
under this blissful panoply,
the noise and hooting,
the little shoots' killing
invited no glances.
