Pie in the Sky

Pie in the sky
should taste heavenly,
if enticed
I wouldn't hesitate
to accept a slice,
I'd fly around on
a cloud
eating and singing aloud
without much distress
about stains on my dress
apple or blueberry
rhubarb or cranberry
I'd never come down,
what glory!
I'll have some peach
and some red cherry too
so full and so sweet, end of
story.

The climbing vine

The climbing vine newly lush and vigorous,
shot up and to the sides,
confident, richly revived,
declaring its deed to the fence
for your hugs I survived,
for the chance to caress
you with full arms again,
not hang on for dear life
with thin bare sticks,
braving the wind's offence,
clinging for warmth in vain.
And now here I am
with spring's new bounty to impress,
I bring to you
the cooling shade against the heat,
green cover for the rain,
birds sweetly perfumed, flowers too,
let's make this summer long and blessed
joy infinite

Your Breath's warm caress

Your breath's warm
caress so close to my
face this early morning
envelops me in bliss,
am I awake or still
embraced by other worlds,
I dare my eyes to open not,
what if this lightly
touching kiss
is just a remnant dream.
Your reaching arms
to soothe my thought
disperse all doubts
all losses, and restore
the knowing gift, replete,
towards a new day's love
in its deeply flowing stream,
complete.
